Yolanda Polk

My passion in life is to help people. Interestingly, when I began my career journey, I initially pursued the field of Nursing at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. However, an Anatomy and Physiology class quickly made me realize that nursing was not my calling.

In the Human Resources field, I aim to dispel the misconception that HR is solely company-focused and not people-oriented. I am committed to returning the “human” element to Human Resources. Whether on a micro or macro level, we must remember that we are all human.

Human Resources is a multifaceted discipline encompassing various areas such as training and development, career advancement, job matching, labor relations, employee relations, recruitment, resume writing, mock interviewing—and much more.

As the Director of Human Resources, I am excited to bring this expertise and enthusiasm to Garrett HR Consultants LLC Group to address these needs comprehensively and effectively.

Latoya Williams

I began my HR career in 2014 as a frontline leader at a Fortune 200 corporation, managing a team of 15-20 employees and supporting their HR needs, including holiday pay, shift differentials, open enrollment, FMLA, and leaves of absence. While working, I earned a degree in Human Resource Management, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

To stay current with industry trends, I am an active member of several professional organizations. My approach to HR focuses on balancing company goals with enhancing the employee experience, with particular emphasis on diversity, employee retention, and building talent pipelines.

Since joining Garrett in October 2021 as a Senior Director of Human Resources, I’ve developed expertise in conflict resolution, payroll, leave administration, ADA compliance, labor laws, employee mentoring, development, and benefits. I am committed to fostering transparency and accountability in all aspects of HR.

With several years of progressive leadership and human resources experience, I have built a strong foundation in employee relations, workforce management, and team development. I began my career in human resources support in 2018 as a Billing Supervisor, where I managed and supported a team of five employees. In this role, I gained hands-on experience in interviewing candidates, processing payroll, administering holiday pay, managing PTO and FMLA, and overseeing employee scheduling while ensuring daily operations ran efficiently.

I later advanced into a Front Line Supervisor role, leading a team of 15 employees in a fast-paced work environment. My responsibilities expanded to include onboarding and training new hires, handling employee terminations, resolving workplace conflicts, managing schedules, and overseeing payroll processes. Known for my strong communication skills and people-focused leadership style, I am committed to fostering a positive workplace culture while leading with humanity, improving employee engagement, and supporting organizational success through effective HR practices.

I bring a combination of operational leadership, administrative expertise, and employee advocacy that allows me to effectively support both employees and management teams.
